About Scholarship

The University of Vienna frequently requires a letter requesting a scholarship from prospective international students. Happily, there are various scholarships available from the institution and the Austrian government, and there are a tonne more from both public and private sources. It is significant to highlight that when enrolled at the University of Vienna, overseas students are required to pay tuition and student union dues.

German language proficiency is necessary for applicants from outside of the country because it is the main language of teaching for courses leading to bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Students must specifically have German language proficiency at the A2 level upon application and at the C1 level by the time their study programme officially starts.

However, a preparatory course is offered for students who do not possess the necessary German language ability. Also, there is funding available for those who want to enrol in the prerequisite course.
