Eligibility Criteria

For Schuman Traineeships:

▪ Age of 18 or above.

▪ National of a European Union Member State (EU).

▪Nationals of non-EU countries may be offered limited traineeships.

▪ University-level diploma.

▪ Proficiency in at least one official language of the EU.

▪ Good command of English, German, or French for nationals of non-member states.

▪ Eligible criminal record.

▪ Not worked with any EU body for more than two consecutive months.

▪ Not benefited from any other EU body traineeship for more than two consecutive months.

▪ Not visit the Secretariat of the European Parliament six months before the start of the traineeship.

For Traineeships with Members of the European Parliament

▪ Age of 18 or above.

▪ National of an EU Member State.

▪ Nationals of other countries may be offered traineeships, subject to visa requirements.

▪ University-level diploma or secondary school certificate for entry to university.

▪ Proficiency in at least one official language of the EU.

▪ Not worked with any EU body on a contractual or other working relationship basis.

▪ Not part of any other EU body traineeship.

▪ Not a parliamentary assistant to an EU Member.
